Stony Brook Grist Mill Site

In September, Americorps members from the Wellfleet house worked at the Stony Brook Grist Mill reseeding grass and spreading loam.

Behind the mill building there is a trail that leads to the pond, which is a popular spot to view the herring run. The herring run ladder (the concrete steps) can be seen from the trail. The herring run occurs in April and May. The herring travel from Cape Cod Bay, through Paine’s Creek, and to Lower Mill Pond.
